More than 200 NAIOP New Jersey members serve in one or more volunteer roles. Join a committee and work with some of the most respected experts in our industry!

Community Action Project Committee


New Volunteers Welcome! The CAP Committee helps to raise funds, in-kind materials and services, and recruit volunteers for NAIOP New Jersey's annual Community Action Project.  Usually holds one meeting in the first quarter, then holds conference calls leading up to the summer volunteer day at the Community Food Bank of NJ. Developing Leaders Committee

Plans programs, professional development and membership benefits exclusively for Developing Leaders, including Mixers, Evening with a Legend dinners, sporting events, and Community Action projects. Co-Chairs: Brian Golden, Prologis and David Avery, Mack-Cali Realty Corporation. Staff Contact: Bonnie Sovinee.




Programs & Education Committee


Identifies the education needs of members and plans timely and relevant Chapter Meeting programs, and educational seminars that offer continuing education credits whenever possible. Meets approximately every other month. Co-Chairs:  Peter Cocoziello, Jr., Advance Realty, and Kim Brennan, Colliers International. Staff Contacts: Bonnie Sovinee and Chanchal Singh.




Gala Committee


Plans, solicits tickets & sponsorships for and helps on the night of the Annual Commercial Real Estate Awards Gala.  Meets seasonally. Co-Chairs: Dave Gibbons, Elberon Development Co., Ed Walsh, Avison Young, and Jonathan Meisel, Jones Lang LaSalle. Staff Contact: Bonnie Sovinee




Golf Committee


Plans, solicits sponsors and auction donations for and volunteers at the NAIOP NJ Annual Golf Classic.  Meets once at the course, then via conference call leading up to the September Golf Classic. Co-Chairs:  Sam Higgins, M&T Bank, Marion Geddes, Ivy Equities and Rob Crespi, Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC. Staff Contact: Bonnie Sovinee.




Legal Action Committee


Monitors court actions for industry impact, reviews legal action requests and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees. Read more about our Legal Action Guidelines. Meets as needed.  Co-Chairs: Lydia Stefanowicz, Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis, LLP, and Russ Bershad, Gibbons Law. Staff Contacts;  Michael McGuinness and Barbara Morford. 




Legislative Committee


Reviews legislation to assess industry impact, recommends positions on bills and suggests legislative action consistent with NAIOP New Jersey's public policy priorities. Meets four to five times annually. Co-Chairs: Alan Lambiase, River Terminal Development Corp., and Richard Goldman, Drinker Biddle & Reath. Membership Committee


Develops strategies for attracting and retaining members. Follows up leads with personal contacts and invites prospects to join. Hosts New Member Orientation Receptions throughout the year. Co-Chairs: Monica Casiello, US Title Solutions, and Andrew Goetting, Hollister Construction Services. Staff Contact: Bonnie Sovinee.




Public Affairs Committee

Reserved for principal members who contribute to DPAC at the maximum level. Chair: Gene Preston, Dermody Properties. Vice-Chair: Tom Michnewicz, Somerset Development. Staff Contact: Michael McGuinness.


Regulatory Affairs Committee

Monitors and reviews regulatory proposals, executive orders and other administrative decisions by state, regional and federal agencies. Recommends appropriate action consistent with NAIOP New Jersey's Public Policy Priorities, assists with the preparation of comments, plans annual Regulatory Update Seminar. Meets eery other month. Co-Chairs: Matt Schlindwein, F. Greek Development, and Susan Karp, Cole Schotz Meisel Forman & Leonard. Staff Contacts: Michael McGuinness and Barbara Morford.
